The President's Ball, honoring past President Dave Angelicchio, was recently held.
Congratulations to Dave and "Thank You" once again for your years of service to PVCC.
I also want to thank Rich Jovan for putting this event together and I am happy to report, the
evening was a huge success, especially the entertainment
..
..and yes, the Oldies WERE Goodies!
Check your calendars for upcoming events, including the Christmas Cocktail Party on
Sunday, December 13th and of course, the New Years Eve Party (Dec. 31st).
Don't forget to make your reservations early!
The club will be closed December 24th and 25th for Christmas and the Club House will
be closed from January 1st through January 11th for extra cleaning and maintenance.
Re-open Tuesday, January 12th.
Over the years, our members have voluntarily contributed to our employees' Christmas Gifts.
We ask for your support again this year. Our employees greatly appreciate the generosity
you have shown in the past and this is continually demonstrated by the very high
employee retention rate that we enjoy here at Pleasant Valley Country Club.
People sometimes fail to understand that unless they themselves are
willing to give, they will never receive!
On behalf of The Board of Governors,
I would like to extend our best wishes for a very Happy Holiday Season
and a New Year full of abundant Good Health and Success!
Respectfully, George (Huck) Rattay

PRO'S COMMENTS
As the season is winding down, I look back on the year gone by, and it was another great year. For that, I say Thank You!
Thank you, to everyone who participated in our club events, and also for supporting the Pro Shop.
After the weather we had in October, who would have imagined a November like this. For all of you that were here on Nov. 8th,
you should be happy to know that you played on the busiest non-event day of the year (121 players). As for the winter season, I
know some of you are planning trips somewhere warm, if you need any assistance with tee times, please call me, or leave a
message on ext. #4.
For those of you, who are done playing for the year, check your clubs. Before you throw them in the corner, give them some
inspection. If your grips are hard, shiny, cracked or have worn finger marks, it's probably time to replace them. A worn grip will
tend to make you grip the club to tightly, which in turn will reduce hand action through the swing. Good hand action or wrist
release at the proper time is the key to longer shots, that's what makes the tour players look so effortless. All grip brands and
styles available.
The Golf Committee and I will be working on the 2010 Golf Schedule soon, if you have any suggestions for club events, or know
of any group(s) that would like to have an outing please let me know as soon as possible.
Happy Holidays,
Matthew A. Gotto PGA
& Pro Shop Staff
